Alternative parking regulations and snow removal in the City of Lackawanna

James T Kuna would like to remind all residents in the City that alternate parking regulations will be vigorously enforced. These regulations assist the City in its snow removal efforts, and help provide passage for emergency response vehicles.

Included in these regulations is the banning of parking on all streets in the Ridgewood Village during the winter months, and no parking from 2:30 a.m. To 7 a.m. On Abbott Road, South Shore Blvd., South Park Ave., Electric Ave., and Ridge Road.

Also, absolutely no personnel checks will be accepted for payment of a parking tag. Cash or money orders are the only acceptable forms of payment.

In clearing driveways and parking lots, avoid creating piles of snow that will block sidewalks or restrict view of motorists.Plow operators are also reminded that it is illegal to plow snow into public streets or onto sidewalks. It is the responsibility of ever homeowner or business operator to clean the sidewalks in front of their homes or place of business. This will provide pedestrians and school children with an adequate walking area area as opposed to having them walking in the streets.
